Yoga for Transformation

commences Jun 10, 2011 with

Using the tools of yoga to create positive change…When you come to yoga, you’re often looking for change on many levels: physical, mental, emotional and spiritual.

Traditional yoga offers a tantalizing carrot to practitioners: enlightenment, the ultimate transformation. Is enlightenment still the goal of yoga? What does it mean and how can you practice yoga in a way that supports your development as a human being as well as spiritual being? Is there a difference?

With lightness, depth and humor, this weekend offers each person an opportunity to experience how yoga can be applied to bring positive change. There will be yoga and meditation sessions, conversation and exploration, good company and times to be quiet and just be.

About Retreats at Clearview

This is a range of workshops and retreats to expand and deepen your understanding of yoga and meditation. In a class situation, you often only get to practice postures.  Yoga has an insightful, practical and fascinating body of knowledge regarding the workings of the mind and soul, as relevant today as it was 4,000 years ago.

Each Weekend Mountain Yoga Retreat involves yoga classes, relaxation, meditation, some periods of silence, and guided walks. The structure of each workshop is the same, but different themes are focused on each weekend. Two-day retreats have five yoga sessions. Three-day retreats have seven yoga sessions. Four-day retreats have nine yoga sessions.

Free time between yoga sessions allows guests to rest and explore the natural beauty of Victoria. Optional massage can be booked separately. Class sizes are kept small and students of all levels of experience are welcome.

If there are areas of particular interest or special needs, i.e. injuries or pregnancy, please let us know in advance so we are able to better tailor the program to suit you.

Home-cooked, delicious, inspiring vegetarian meals are provided, beginning with Friday night dinner. Special diets are catered for.

About the Facilitator

Diana Corr has been practicing yoga, movement and meditation for twenty years. She is skilled in adapting yoga to personal needs and loves to teach in ways that are relevant and dogma free. She was very fortunate to have been taught by TKV Desikachar and many talented Australian teachers. This breath based approach (often called Viniyoga) emphasizes the importance of adapting yoga to each person. She has a deeply abiding respect for eastern yoga systems but also likes to incorporate contemporary wisdom and practices so as not to get too caught up in ‘being spiritual’ at the expense of being human. Currently she is studying with Camille Maurine, who teaches a body centered and human friendly approach to meditation. Diana is also a graphic designer and is working on a series of yoga related products
